My husband is thrilled at everything I make too (he cooks sometimes too - and does it very well!) Good for you for buying those healthy dinners- every bit counts! :) Skye https://www.blogger.com/profile/05663879992702576347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1757273551353259279.post-60542627297037462412014-04-14T08:54:01.421-04:002014-04-14T08:54:01.421-04:00thank you carla - it has been an adjustment - but ...thank you carla - it has been an adjustment - but a good one. We are really enjoying this and taking pride in the fact that 'healthy' comes first for our family. It's just starting to et really nice here- we have been outdoors a lot and even chasing my kids around at the park constitutes exercise! :) Skye https://www.blogger.com/profile/05663879992702576347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1757273551353259279.post-89125778878238143422014-04-06T18:24:37.757-04:002014-04-06T18:24:37.757-04:00Yay for you guys!! I work hard on eating healthy too, but I feel challenged when it gets late and I don't have dinner ready and I feel like the kids just need to eat and go to bed. :) When Harry was a baby, we bought a double jogging stroller...I don't think we'd get any exercise without it. :) Keep us updated...I want to see a new you pic too! ~CarlaJansen Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02240254561478655994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1757273551353259279.post-69784342180613360372014-03-31T22:12:46.798-04:002014-03-31T22:12:46.798-04:00Good for you guys! Exercise is an area I also need improvement (I tend to count breastfeeding and toddler chasing as a workout) hopefully as the weather gets nicer or family will get out for more walks. We also have pretty much switched to all organic and are now working (slowly) at growing/raising as much of our food as we can.
I finally got my grandma to ditch her artificial sweeteners, agree that stuff is scary! Now if only I can get my in-laws to ditch to low fat dairy products! That is not easy,
especially with cooking for children and all of the tasks you both have to do after work.

I'm surprised about the not exercising issue; I'd think that with chasing around two young children, doing errands, cleaning up, running up
and down stairs, lifting the baby, that some exercise would be involved. I think that there are exercises where you can involve your children.

I remember exercising years ago with my neighbor. Her six-year-old son would do what we were doing, and he was better at it, of course.

I don't cook with recipies, but I do heat up frozen food, like Amy's dinners (tofu lasagna, and a vegetarian beans/quinoa/rice/broccoli),
Amy's bean soups and an Organic Bistro salmon dinner. And I do indulge in frozen dairy desserts, but in the summer I choose Stonyfield
Farms fat-free frozen yogurt, with a little as 400 calories a pint.

Best wishes on your healthy regimen.
