My day off - Iphone Pictures

On Friday, Julianna and I had a nice day off together.
I tried to document most of our day using Instagram (and my Iphone camera) but also took many photos with my regular SLR camera of our day (which I'll post later on).

We stopped by Daddy's work and had lunch at the diner. Julianna loves to stack... everything. Jellies included.

Daddy works for John Deere - Julianna loves sitting on the tractors and pretending she's steering them.

She really liked sitting on the John Deere Gator - so much so, that she had a meltdown deluxe when Daddy tried to pull her off of it.

Julianna and  I went to the Hunterdon County Arboretum and saw the pretty park & flowers.
She loves to smell the flowers (well, she blows out with her nose when she sniffs, she hasn't gotten the hang of sniffing yet!) As soon as Julianna saw the "fort", she took off running to see it up close!

Such a pretty setting!

The Arboretum "fort" from the other side.

I liked this bridge - I took a wrong turn and ended up on some back road with this cool one lane bridge over the river.

After the arboretum, we went to a local park and spent at least an hour there.
(Me & Julianna!)

She loves this bouncy thing.
Except she wants me to sit on the other one and it weighs down too much so she goes way up in the air - uneven weight! haha!

Such a beautiful day to be outdoors!

Julianna was exhausted by the afternoon ride home. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

On our way home from my huband's job, I discovered a great farm where we can by organic beef & chicken, and other fresh goodies. I love buying fresh - it just tastes so much better. We bought an 1/8 of an organic cow this year (thanks to our good friends that do it every year) - and there is such a huge difference between organic meat & store bought meat. So much tastier. I am leaning towards having all organic meat in our house lately.

This morning, Julianna and I went to a local farmer's market. We bought some fresh strawberries and blueberries from a local farm that we like. They had a stand at the market today. We also bought some fresh baked bread, and then went to the Alpaca farm stand where Julianna got to pet the Alpacas. Alpacas are like Llamas but smaller, and the nice farmer told me the Alpaca hair is much softer and is better for making products like hats, blankets, socks, etc... The stuff they had there was so soft. I would love to buy a hat for winter. They seemed so soft & warm! (Not something I wanted to buy on a 80 degree summer day though!). Julianna loved the Alpacas but she was too nervous to actually feed them She ended up putting the food on the ground for them to eat - haha!

Woah.... big Alpaca ears Mommy!

Yummy fresh veggies at the market today!

 Fresh local NJ lettuce

Julianna cautiously watching the Alpaca - she watched him for a few minutes before she dared touch.

That's all folks! Have a great day!

  2. Sounds like a fun eventful day! Great instagrams! And, yes, there is nothing better than fresh foods especially fruits and vegetables! It's funny I was just saying this to my husband as we passed by this gorgeous house in Dunstable and it looked like they had their own crops. I was saying how lucky they are and how I'd love to be invited over to dinner to enjoy the fresh fruits and vegetables! Yummy!

    1. Thanks! Yeah fresh is so much better for sure- we are growing some veggies in our community garden but those won't be ready for a while (we have too many deer & groundhogs by us to have any kind of stuff like that in our yard!) - I don't mind paying more at the farmers market for fresh veggies & fruits because they are so good and it supports the local farmers :)
